A wasps nest is built afresh each year starting with a single queen. In spring over wintering wasp queens abandon their hibernation and start setting up new nests by using a papery substance that she produces by chewing small bits of wood combined with saliva. This is what’s called Wasp Paper. She’ll raise the initial few workers by her own efforts and those workers will then continue the expansion of the nest and looking after the immature wasps to follow.
Nest building gets going in earnest in June and will reach its optimum in size in August and September, when 5000 – 20,000 workers could be present. In late autumn the nest generates up to 2000 queens to hibernate and create new nests the subsequent spring. The nest itself is then spent and simply not used again.

For the whole of the summer months Runcorn Wasps Nests will be eradicating wasps nests throughout the whole of eradicated in Runcorn for a set rate of only 32.000.
We are available 7 days per week including weekends and evenings and do not charge an extra for evening and weekend call outs.
Wasps nests can normally be dealt with from the exterior of the building by injecting a small amount of wasp powder into the entrance hole using a special machine.
It is necessary to have a wasps’ nest dealt with before mid-september when the new queens which will build the following year’s nests start to emerge. Once this commences simply destoying the nest will not kill these queens as they are no longer going back to the nest. A single wasp nest can create around 2000 queens.
For the whole of the summer we give priority to wasp calls as we know that many people suffer badly from wasps stings and it is important to deal with the nest as with the utmost urgency. We do our best to provide a rapid same day service but this is obviously governed by how busy we are.
It is neither necessary nor desirable to remove a wasps nest itself as it can never be used again and, being built from purely of paper it will eventually crumble away of its own accord.
